Below is a link to give you an idea on costs of raising a litter, I hear how maybe we should let our girl have at least one litter, it would be good for her or the kids to see and you must make a lot of money from the litters.
Not true I have been doing this for over 40 years and I am far from being rich. I do it for the love of the breed and to be able to see the smiles on the faces of the new families when visiting the puppies and on the day they get to take their new family member home to become part of their family for the next 12 + years.
It is a 24/7 job. The pay is not good but the joy makes up for it. 🙂 After saying that there is also some heartache and frustration that comes with this “job”.
It is all the wagging tails and big brown eyes that keep me going, and of coarse the love of the breed.
